Food Matters argues that there are benefits to both juicing and blending. Their post is definitely worth the read (here). I don't know that I really care to take sides on the debate, I'm just interested in adding as many healthy and beneficial practices to my diet as possible so I went out and got a juicer today! YAY!
Before I got started using my juicer, I wanted to get a crash course and my honey was definitely willing to oblige. He juices at night and drinks the juice in the morning for breakfast. He says it gives him energy throughout the day and has caused him to crave freshness. We began by slicing, chopping, and peeling what we needed. This time we used carrots, oranges, strawberries, apples, pineapple, and collard greens. He said that he usually adds ginger, but forgot to pick up some ginger root when at the store. |
